About The Position

As a Network Engineer Level 2 at Independent Software, you will provide advanced technical support to maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise network environments. You will build upon foundational network administration responsibilities by supporting network design, performing upgrades, and ensuring systems meet mission and compliance requirements. You will work closely with Network and System Administrators to improve performance, automate processes, and support operational network infrastructure across complex environments.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting enterprise network environments, including routing and switching
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with network device configuration and administration (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Ability to analyze and resolve network performance and connectivity issues
  • Familiarity with network security concepts and network defense operations
  • Ability to read and maintain network diagrams and technical documentation
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related discipline AND Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience providing network engineering support
  • OR
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline AND eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • OR
  • Fourteen ( No degree)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required
  • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Network Administrators and System Administrators for maintaining and improving network infrastructure
  • Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring system availability and reliability
  • Troubleshoot network issues across routers, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure
  • Support network upgrades, installations, and configuration activities
  • Provide input into network design and mission architecture
  • Conduct network defense operations and support security-related configurations
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation
  • Configure and maintain network devices and infrastructure components
  • Integrate hardware and software solutions to meet DoD/IC and ISO compliance requirements
  • Support capacity planning and performance optimization efforts
  • Oversee support activities for network equipment and ensure operational readiness
  • Assist with integration of analytic platforms and network capabilities into operational environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
