About The Position

The Network Engineer Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will work in close coordination with Architecture and Engineering team leads, project managers, network architects, and engineers from other service areas. This role involves supporting the design, configuration, installation, and testing of IT network devices and systems at MDA remote and enterprise sites by following standardized design and implementation documentation, instructions, and procedures. The intern will provide technical contributions to facilitate project completion to satisfy contractual requirements according to high-level architecture designs with guidance from senior peers. They will also provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection with guidance and support from senior Network Engineers, receiving hands-on experience with the latest Cisco hardware and technology, such as Software Defined Access. Other duties may include troubleshooting support of network connectivity issues with remote site customers.

Requirements

  • Must have 6, or more, months of general (fulltime) work experience
  • Must have an interest, and desire, to learn the roles and responsibilities of a Network Engineer and to grow into a Junior role
  • Must have, or obtain within 3 months of hire, a current DoW 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or above)
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position.
