About The Position

Sigma Defense is seeking a Network Engineer III to join our team on-site at Fort Irwin in California. This role involves leading a team of technicians on EW-related programs, problem-solving in complex EW system environments, and evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing, or developing complex system designs and architectures. The position also supports field testing and training, spectrum management, and the development of test plans and procedures. The engineer will analyze and develop Electronic Attack (EA) and Sensing (ES) techniques, provide subject matter expertise in installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of electronic/mechanical equipment, and assist with test and evaluation tasks. Reviewing change proposals for equipment impacts and providing technical data for component installation and systems are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to write clear, concise, and easily readable technical correspondence.
  • High organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of terrestrial EW and radar employment, capabilities, and technical capabilities/limitations.
  • Experience interpreting and/or developing technical drawing and work packages.
  • Ability to use and interpret electronic test equipment.
  • Experience with maintenance/repair and/or installation/integration of advanced technical equipment.
  • Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) equipment and operations.
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced knowledge of the function, operation, employment, repair, and design of EW systems hardware, including jammers and electronic sensing systems.
  • Knowledge of radar systems function, operation, employment, repair, and design.
  • Knowledge of advanced antenna technologies and performance.
  • Knowledge of the NTC training area.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of technicians on EW-related programs, as part of an integrated team of EW engineers.
  • Problem solving in a large real time complex EW system environment.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, or develop complex system designs and architectures.
  • Support field testing and training using DoW-accredited EW systems (e.g. range testing, operational testing, developmental testing).
  • Spectrum management in support of EW field operations.
  • Develop Functional Performance and Accreditation test plans and/or procedures.
  • Analyze and develop Electronic Attack (EA) and Sensing (ES) techniques.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks.
  • Review change proposals for equipment impacts.
  • Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements.
