•$105,000 - $120,000

About The Position

The OT Network & Security Engineer II implements, operates, and supports secure, resilient network infrastructure and cybersecurity controls across operational technology environments. The engineer works with SCADA, field operations, infrastructure, vendors, and OT Cybersecurity teams to maintain reliable connectivity and implement approved security controls. OT experience is preferred but not required; enterprise networking or network security experience with exposure to industrial or operational environments is also acceptable. The role emphasizes hands-on implementation and support. Cybersecurity architecture, governance, policy, formal risk acceptance, and regulatory interpretation remain the responsibility of the relevant cybersecurity and governance teams. The engineer works independently with limited oversight, owns assigned technical activities from planning through implementation, validation, and documentation, and may lead individual technical workstreams or site activities. The role may include mentoring junior staff, but has no formal personnel-management responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, industry certifications, and relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant hands-on experience, formal training, or industry certification; certifications may be substituted with equivalent technical knowledge and practical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering, network security, infrastructure, telecommunications, or related technologies.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the company is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
  • Ability to function independently with limited oversight and own assigned technical activities from planning through implementation, validation, and documentation.
  • Commitment to safety, resilience, and regulatory readiness.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting distributed, remote, industrial, utility, manufacturing, or operational environments.
  • OT, SCADA, or ICS experience; strong enterprise networking or security experience and the ability to learn OT environments will also be considered.
  • Experience with Cisco switching, routing, wireless, or network services; CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks and exposure to Fortinet firewalls, including security policy, VPN, threat prevention, or secure connectivity; relevant certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with network segmentation, secure remote access, monitoring, and network-management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, NERC CIP, or ISO 27001.
  • Equivalent experience with comparable enterprise networking and security technologies.
  • Ability to lead individual technical workstreams or site activities and potentially mentor junior staff.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong operational execution skills.
  • Desire to learn about the company and the renewables space.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and related network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across operational sites.
  • Support routing, VLANs, network segmentation, firewall policies, and secure remote access by analyzing technical requirements and implementing approved configurations.
  • Monitor network performance, device health, logs, and security events to identify issues, determine root cause, and support timely resolution.
  • Troubleshoot network, firewall, VPN, segmentation, and application connectivity issues using structured analysis, diagnostic tools, and operational data.
  • Implement approved firewall rules, security profiles, and access controls to support least-privilege access and reduce operational security risk.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation to maintain supported, secure, and compliant network infrastructure.
  • Support network and cybersecurity incident response by analyzing events, identifying contributing factors, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Execute network and security changes through established change-management processes, including impact analysis, testing, validation, documentation, and rollback planning.
  • Support commissioning, expansion, and technology refresh activities by integrating network and security infrastructure into new and existing operational sites.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, IP addressing, firewall documentation, and equipment inventories to support operations, troubleshooting, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with SCADA, field operations, infrastructure, vendors, and OT Cybersecurity teams to translate operational and security requirements into reliable technical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, monitoring, automation, and standardization by analyzing recurring issues, operational trends, and technical performance.
