Organization & Team Overview Comcast’s Technology & Product organization designs, develops and supports innovative products and services that bring broadband, wireless, video and voice experiences to residential and business customers throughout the world, with more than 57 million customer relationships across the U.S. and Europe. This team specifically works to ensure the performance of our network in the U.S., including speeds and capacity that customers rely on to stay connected to what matters most, and builds and operates mission-critical systems, including those that monitor our network and its associated cloud infrastructure. Role Description Primary role will be supporting several internal teams in the coordination and implementation of engineering requests for capacity augments and network upgrades in support of Comcast’s objectives for the Backbone Network. This engineer will be responsible for the design, configuration, activation, and operational support of Comcast’s Backbone Edge networks. What are some interesting problems the student will work on? This Engineer will also act as a Liaison between various entities and Customers to offer unique technical solutions as needed. This Engineer will need to comply with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Where can this student make an impact? You’ll be responsible for working with 3rd party CDN providers (Google, Meta, Netflix etc..) and activating additional capacity between Comcast and these CDN providers.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027.
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cisco/Juniper routers is a plus
  • Experience in Network engineering is a plus
  • Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computing Technology

Responsibilities

  • Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
  • Determines resources, technology and course of action to achieve results
  • Works with project management to deliver capacity/solutions that meet or exceed requirements and schedules.
  • Manage circuits from order entry through test and turn up.
  • Create Comcast Network Maintenance tickets associated with Service Affecting (SA) and Non-Service Affecting (NSA) activity and accurately identify all affected circuits or network elements.
  • Make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas
  • Emphasis on communication and soft skills is required.
  • Determines and documents internal telecommunications systems.
  • Designs and configures telecommunications systems.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
