About The Position

The Network Communications Engineer 1 is responsible for foundational monitoring, basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, documentation, and first-line support of Community Medical Center’s LAN/WAN/MAN/WLAN environment. Working under the guidance of the Network Team Leader and senior engineers, the incumbent handles day-to-day operational tasks, responds to service requests, escalates complex issues, and supports the reliability of network services critical to clinical care and hospital operations. This entry-to-junior-level role emphasizes learning, adherence to established procedures, and contribution to team goals while building expertise in healthcare networking.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 years of IT support, help desk, network administration, or related role.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware, basic configuration, or troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Prior work in healthcare, hospital, or high-availability environments.
  • Exposure to clinical systems, medical device connectivity, or VoIP.
  • CompTIA Network+ preferred.
  • Cisco CCNA (or equivalent vendor certification) preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation (desirable for service management) preferred.
