About The Position

The Network Communications Engineer 1 is responsible for foundational monitoring, basic troubleshooting, routine maintenance, documentation, and first-line support of Community Medical Center’s LAN/WAN/MAN/WLAN environment. Working under the guidance of the Network Team Leader and senior engineers, the incumbent handles day-to-day operational tasks, responds to service requests, escalates complex issues, and supports the reliability of network services critical to clinical care and hospital operations. This entry-to-junior-level role emphasizes learning, adherence to established procedures, and contribution to team goals while building expertise in healthcare networking.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
3 years of IT support, help desk, network administration, or related role.
Hands-on experience with network hardware, basic configuration, or troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Prior work in healthcare, hospital, or high-availability environments.
Exposure to clinical systems, medical device connectivity, or VoIP.
CompTIA Network+ preferred.
Cisco CCNA (or equivalent vendor certification) preferred.
ITIL Foundation (desirable for service management) preferred.
