About The Position

Bitwise is seeking an experienced CNO NetDev Developer to join their team in Ft. Meade, Maryland. This role involves working on cutting-edge, mission-critical projects at the intersection of reverse engineering, software development, and network exploitation. The developer will serve as a general-purpose CNO reverse engineer focused on network-based devices, designing, developing, prototyping, modifying, and integrating solutions that deliver real mission impact. Collaboration with analysts, operators, data scientists, and fellow software engineers is expected for mission tactical support. Responsibilities include augmenting existing toolsets and building prototypes that demonstrate a clear understanding of mission requirements. This is a senior-level role.

Requirements

  • 12 years of relevant experience with a B.S., or 10 years with an M.S. (4 years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
  • Familiarity with Unix-based systems.
  • Experience reverse engineering Linux-based network devices.
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP) and hands-on experience analyzing network traffic (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Ability to produce and modify software systems in C, C++, Python, and/or Assembly.
  • Experience providing support for fielded software systems.
  • Familiarity with version control tools including Git and Subversion.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Active TS//SCI clearance with polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reverse engineering Windows or embedded platforms (RTOS).
  • Experience with any of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience developing CNO-specific software for Linux, Windows, or embedded applications.
  • Experience with vulnerability research and exploit development.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations.
