About The Position

Nor-Cal Controls engineers controls solutions for utility-scale renewable energy power plants and battery energy storage systems, and we are looking for a Network Designer (Engineer) I to join our stellar team! As a Network Designer, you will focus on network design, cybersecurity, high availability, virtualization and configuring/troubleshooting solar photovoltaic (PV) site network devices (e.g., firewalls, routers, switches), communication protocols for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) projects, ensuring secure communication and NERC compliance.

Requirements

  • BS in Network Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years’ experience with configuring network routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto).
  • 3+ years’ experience with networking communication protocols TCP/IP Stack or OSI.
  • Knowledge and experience working with networking technologies and architectures (Fiber, Ethernet, Serial).
  • Deep understanding of troubleshooting network communication, layer 2 & 3 devices, firewalls, servers, and virtual environments.
  • 1 year experience troubleshooting industrial SCADA networking issues highly preferred.
