About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs smoothly. This involves supporting all AWS data centers and the associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team tackles complex challenges within the supply chain and seeks talented individuals to contribute. You will join a diverse team of engineers, specialists, and managers, collaborating across AWS to maintain high standards of safety and security while delivering capacity at the lowest possible cost. An inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and empowers ownership is central to this role. AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join its infrastructure operations team. In this role, you will work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and contribute to innovative automation and scaling solutions. The position involves supporting multiple data center locations, assisting with capacity management, and working with internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution under the guidance of Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. You will utilize your experience in supporting large-scale enterprise networks, including network implementation and troubleshooting, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting with regular customer interaction. Responsibilities include managing and supporting AWS's vast network infrastructure, establishing and refining best practices, and improving operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Work authorization without employer intervention
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Traveling within and outside of regional work area is required
  • Responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area

Responsibilities

  • Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
  • Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
  • Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
  • Scaling support of several data center locations
  • Day to day assistance with capacity management
  • Working closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution
  • Providing management and support of AWS’ vast network infrastructure
  • Establishing and following best practices
  • Refining operational procedures
