About The Position

Lynker Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Network Coordinator and Education Strategic Planning Specialist to join their team. This position will support the creation and delivery of improved educational programs by coordinating activities of groups and networks managed by OEd, supporting office leadership, planning meetings, assisting with logistics for annual meetings and workshops, ensuring members are informed, supporting strategic planning activities, coordinating participation in NOAA’s strategic planning and budget formulation processes, supporting education monitoring and evaluation efforts, and assisting with preparing responses to data calls and inquiries.

Requirements

  • Provides support for the NOAA Education Council, the Coastal Ecosystems Learning Centers (CELC) network, the Regional Coordination Network (RCN), or other networks as needed.
  • Drafts meeting agendas.
  • Maintains listservs and disseminates meeting information and other appropriate material to network members.
  • Supports data calls by collecting required information from multiple sources and synthesizing such information for review by Office leadership.
  • Manages network websites.
  • Work network members and office’s Communication team to develop and publish web stories that highlight network accomplishments.
  • Supports the implementation of NOAA’s Education Strategic Plan and/or other network guiding documents.
  • Supports the Office of Education Communications team with the development of network accomplishments reports (e.g., NOAA Education Report).
  • Supports the collection and reporting of common metrics and other performance indicators or the network, during the annual Unified Data Call.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NOAA’s science and education efforts.
  • Familiarity with Agency policies, priorities, and objectives.
  • Experience with data collection from multiple sources and development of reports summarizing this information.
  • Experience with strategic planning and with the analytical methods and techniques for assessing and evaluating program development and execution.
  • Excellent oral and writing skills.
  • MA or MS degree in NOAA related fields and 2 to 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of groups and networks managed by OEd, like the NOAA Education Council, the Coastal Ecosystems Learning Centers network, The Regional Coordination Network and others.
  • Support Office leadership in leading such groups and networks.
  • Plan recurring meetings and draft meeting agendas.
  • Assist with the planning, logistics, and execution of annual meetings and workshops.
  • Ensure that group or network members are informed of all pertinent information through timely and effective communication.
  • Support strategic planning activities for the Office of Education, NOAA Education Council, and/or Regional Coordination Network and coordinate their participation in NOAA’s strategic planning and budget formulation processes.
  • Support the implementation of education monitoring and evaluation efforts by coordinating data collection across NOAA programs, analyzing, and reporting the results.
  • Assist with preparing responses to data calls and inquiries from Congress, Office of Management and Budget, NOAA and DOC leadership, etc.
