The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN). The candidate will support the operation and maintenance of multiple networks across different classification levels and ensure continuous network connectivity is maintained for our customers and sites. This position is located at a Regional Network Hub and provides direct network operations support. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network connectivity, resolving equipment failures, managing router and switch configurations, updating firewall access control lists, VoIP device registrations and configuration, and managing cryptographic device configurations and keying material. You will also be responsible for maintaining Information Assurance compliance to include IOS upgrades, network device configuration changes, firewall ACL verification, and supporting remote sites in restoring network failures.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Must currently possess, and be able to maintain, an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Current IAT Level II certification (such as CompTIA Security+).
  • Strong team-oriented professional with leadership abilities, effective communication skills, ethical judgment,
  • Hands-on experience in network operations.

Nice To Haves

  • CCNA or equivalent network certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in network operations and support.
  • Familiarity with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for network equipment, including configuration, scanning, and remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the smooth operation of local and wide area networks.
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate the installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection, with a primary focus on maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements meet future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
  • Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment and design portions of the network, including the selection of hardware and software packages.
