About The Position

The CCIE-certified Network Architect will deliver advanced network architecture engineering and operational support services. The role operates at a strategic design and architecture level while also supporting critical operational needs as required. This is a fully onsite contract position in Hopkinton, Massachusetts; the posting also specifies onsite work in Boston, Massachusetts. Estimated hours: 680.

Requirements

Cisco networking skills and CCIE certification.
Industry-standard networking knowledge of OSI model layers 1–4.
Knowledge of functional differences between SFP, SFP+, and QSFP transceivers.
Ability to describe common iSCSI settings generally configured on switches.
Ability to state or defend a preference for spanning tree protocols given specific environmental variables.
Ability to explain static port-channeling as an alternative to LACP or PaGP link aggregation.
Ability to explain /31 point-to-point subnet connectivity or unnumbered interfaces in dynamic routing for leaf/spine networks.

Responsibilities

Support daily network operations to maintain uptime performance and operational continuity.
Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting across routing, switching, and production Cisco environments, including IOS, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR.
Assist with protocol redistribution configuration updates and change management activities.
Support patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle operations.
Conduct root cause analysis and provide optimization recommendations.
Contribute to security hardening and assist during incident response efforts.
Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, SAN mappings, and configuration records.
Provide ongoing knowledge transfer to strengthen internal operational capabilities.
