About The Position

Our direct client has a new opening for a Network Architect. This position is 9 months, with the option of extension, and is in Augusta, Maine. The Network Architect is responsible for current and future projects involving Network design for both on-prem and cloud efforts. This includes Cloud, Wireless, Internet, Data Center, WAN/LAN, load balancers and firewalls, security, Monitoring Orion, Cisco gear net new and refresh, configuration management, and setting the gold image, in a fast-paced environment with rapid moving priorities. This is NOT a lead architect role but working under the supervision of a lead architect. This position needs someone who understands Enterprise Architecture and is willing to be on-site. The environment is dynamic and a changing environment that needs a team player who will help build out the Network Core Infrastructure to the Cloud. This is a hands-on role with strong experience with F5 load balancer, Cisco equipment, and Firewalls specifically CheckPoint that will be a long-term engagement. The environment has roughly 11K users with 400 sites located in Maine with 2-3 central data clusters.

Requirements

  • Enterprise Architecture understanding.
  • Willingness to be on-site.
  • Team player in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Strong experience with F5 load balancer.
  • Strong experience with Cisco equipment.
  • Strong experience with CheckPoint firewalls.
  • Expert level in Cisco, F5, and Checkpoint.
  • Expert level in Cisco Networking architecture, operation, design and troubleshooting.
  • Expert level in Network project scoping and implementation.
  • Flexible and adaptable team player who can take the lead.

Responsibilities

  • Design networks for both on-prem and cloud efforts.
  • Manage projects involving Cloud, Wireless, Internet, Data Center, WAN/LAN, load balancers and firewalls, security.
  • Oversee Monitoring Orion.
  • Handle Cisco gear net new and refresh.
  • Manage configuration management.
  • Set the gold image.
  • Adapt to fast-paced, rapidly moving priorities.
  • Build out Network Core Infrastructure to the Cloud.
  • Work hands-on with F5 load balancers, Cisco equipment, and CheckPoint firewalls.
