Maintains network environment by responding to service calls and installing, configuring, and supporting LAN servers, virtual and physical, and networked PCs. Performs network administration, such as daily maintenance of servers, backup/recovery of user data and server system, and troubleshooting problems that arise regarding communication to the file server. Provides first-line problem diagnosis and troubleshooting for complex network or data communications. Provides help desk problem resolution assistance; provides system organization, system documentation and training. Performs related work as required. Manages users accounts, security groups, and has a working knowledge of Active Directory. Provides quotes for hardware or software upon request and manages purchases of new hardware and software. Provides leadership and supervision to the hardware management team. Seeks consultation and maintaining relationships with the Department of Information Technology. Provides project management and asset management skills and oversight. Works under general supervision.
