About The Position

Our client needs candidates with a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routers and protocols. A Secret clearance and Security+ certification are mandatory for these roles. The position involves working within various specialized teams, such as Router/Switch, UC/VOIP, LAN/WAN, Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches, and Satellite Communications. Team assignments will be based on the candidate's skills. For instance, the TR/IP NOC team focuses on Incident Management for a Wide Area Network (WAN) supporting DISA in a 24x7 environment, providing Layer 2 and Layer 3 support. This includes remote monitoring and management of the WAN using client-provided tools and documenting network issues in the TMS Remedy trouble ticketing system. They also handle troubleshooting and fault resolution for voice, video, and data circuits, acting as a liaison between DISA and the customer. Other teams support missions like the JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack) enterprise system, Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS), Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance operations, and the Missile Defense Agency Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Communications Network. Additional services include operational engineering, service activations, performance management, configuration management, administration, and security.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1-3+ yrs of relevant technical discipline; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
  • Able to work in a shift work environment as we are a 24/7 operation.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management
  • Experience in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, CISCO, MSPP, Optical Switching.
  • General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Network engineering, Router, Firewall
  • Sec+, CCNA Security, CySA+
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as will have to delivery information to customer at all levels.
  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and upgrade to Top Secret

Responsibilities

  • Conduct network incident investigation.
  • Identify and document network errors and solutions.
  • Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.
  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, cryptographic devices, and routers to optimize performance and ensure the desired security posture is attained and maintained.
  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices, phone systems, including phone units, voicemail, switches, infrastructure, call manager systems, Video Teleconference (VTC) systems video recording/viewing/distribution systems, and related telecommunications trunk circuits.
  • Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices.
