About The Position

The Network Analyst/Tech is a central university office position at Emory University, responsible for supporting the configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network services and devices. This role involves monitoring critical processes for Emory's enterprise-wide systems and applications, ensuring data download completions, and addressing interruptions and failures. The position requires interaction with others to resolve issues promptly and maintaining 24x7 coverage and support, including on-call duties, to restore service and meet agreed-upon service levels. Key tasks include installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network services and devices, interacting with customers to resolve network issues, performing inspections and upgrades, and developing/maintaining documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude for troubleshooting, testing, scripting, and coding related to network services, and will be able to assist with systems and provide support for configuration modifications without direct supervision.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and two years of related IT experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude about troubleshooting and testing activities related to network services.
  • Aptitude to perform troubleshooting, testing, scripting and coding.

Responsibilities

  • In the Network Operations Center, monitor critical processes for Emory's enterprise-wide systems and applications.
  • Monitor data downloads to ensure job completions, and address interruptions and failures.
  • Interact with others to resolve issues within a timely manner.
  • Maintain 24 x 7 coverage and support, including on-call support, to assist with restoring service and maintaining agreed upon service levels.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network services and devices.
  • Interact with customers to resolve network issues.
  • Perform inspections and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain documentation.
  • Assist with systems, provide support without direction, and support modifications/changes to configuration.
  • Perform other duties as required.
