About The Position

CompuOne Corporation is a full-service managed IT services provider headquartered in San Diego seeking a Network Administrator to join their team. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in designing, managing, and securing advanced network environments across multiple client sites. The role involves leading the design, implementation, and support of scalable network infrastructure, assisting in the analysis and support of IT problems, monitoring and optimizing network performance, availability, and security, troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues, configuring and maintaining VLANs, STP, LACP, QoS, and security protocols, administering and maintaining systems including Cisco, VMWare, Azure, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Office 365, managing virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure, overseeing system audits, documentation, and disaster recovery planning, and staying ahead of emerging technologies and recommending improvements. Travel to client sites locally as needed is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in network administration and IT infrastructure support
  • Proven expertise in switching, routing, and firewall management
  • Advanced knowledge of network security practices and access controls
  • Strong command of Microsoft environments, including Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Experience managing virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, ESXi, Azure)
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified
  • Experience working in a MSP (Managed Services Provider) environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, etc.)
  • Assisting in the analysis and support of IT problems, ensuring efficient resolution.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and security using industry best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, escalating and coordinating with vendors as needed
  • Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, LACP, QoS, and security protocols
  • Administer and maintain systems including Cisco, VMWare, Azure, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Manage virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure
  • Oversee system audits, documentation, and disaster recovery planning
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and recommend improvements
  • Travel to client sites locally as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
