About The Position

The Network Administrator will play an important role in managing the day-to-day functionality of all network-related hardware and software. The Network Administrator will be responsible for work with management team and property staff to discuss system requirements, proposed changes, priorities, schedules and service standards; works with the Manager of Network and Security to achieve strategic, long-range goals; consults with the Manager of Network and Security on equipment performance, output quality and maintenance schedule.

Requirements

  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing, and in the operation of all hotel-specific systems
  • Knowledge of IT applications, processes, software, and equipment. Experience with Ruckus Switches, Palo Firewalls, Nutanix AHV, Windows servers, Active Directory, and Hyper-V are helpful
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards and applicable data privacy and security practices
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communications skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • A bachelor's degree in management information systems or computer science, or equivalent training; preferably MCSE certified
  • Great collaborator with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group Collaborative approach with all departments
  • Ability to break down barriers and resolve potential conflicts swiftly and effortlessly
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to all levels of management

  • Diagnose potential problems with and replace peripheral devices without supervision
  • Effectively and efficiently move from floor to floor as needed
  • Lift up to 40 pounds
  • Move up to 50 pounds to be able to perform inspector and utility duties as needed and perform necessary inventory checks
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, climbing, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander/hair
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate workload and capacity of computer and network systems to determine feasibility for expansion or enhancements; recommend improvements
  • Assist with managing a Windows Server environment, using Ruckus switches, Palo Firewalls, Nutanix AHV, and Windows Hyper-V
  • Assist in layout and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans, including routine restoration of backups
  • Configure system access for users in coordination with management
