About The Position

The Network Administrator at the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. will be responsible for the strategic deployment, configuration, and proactive management of the organization's network infrastructure. This role includes ensuring maximum system availability, security, and performance while adhering to healthcare regulatory standards such as HIPAA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in network administration with expertise in managing complex server environments and infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server management, virtualization (VMware), and storage networking (SAN/iSCSI).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot network hardware, server technologies, and enterprise software like Windows Server, VMware, and Active Directory.
  • Manage and optimize core protocols and connectivity services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, iSCSI, SAN, and Metro ELAN.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 environments and provide infrastructure support for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management systems.
  • Administer enterprise backup and recovery solutions for data integrity and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to design and implement long-term computing infrastructure plans and system standards.
  • Monitor hardware and software performance proactively to maintain optimal resource usage and system uptime.
  • Maintain firewalls, networked peripherals, and establish system standards for all network devices.
  • Manage equipment inventory, technical documentation, licenses, and act as the main contact for IT vendors.
  • Coordinate with staff at all levels to gather requirements, analyze technical data, and present solutions for departmental needs.
  • Provide high-level support for server, network, and desktop-related issues, ensuring service excellence during high-pressure outages.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to end-users.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
