About The Position
Wilkes University is seeking a Network Specialist to join the Information Technology Services Department. This role is crucial for maintaining the University's technology infrastructure, ensuring that network services are reliable, secure, and performant to support the academic, administrative, and operational needs of the campus community. The position involves optimizing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi, configuring network devices for security and efficiency, monitoring network performance, supporting connectivity and authentication, documenting network changes, and managing network device updates and upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- At least three years of directly related experience
- Experience with LAN/WAN environments
- Experience with Cisco-based networks
- Experience with Aruba wireless and switching systems
- Experience with Fortinet Firewalls
- Experience with Windows and Linux enterprise server management
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with enterprise network security practices

Responsibilities
