About The Position

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Network Administrator position. This position is a direct hire opportunity which is expected to be on-site, in Orlando, FL. The Network Administrator establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; and designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. This role maintains network performance by performing network monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; and escalating problems to vendors. The administrator secures the network by implementing network access policies and monitoring user behavior and network traffic for compliance with policies. They support users by providing direct assistance for network and application software issues. The role involves upgrading the network by conferring with vendors and developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements, which includes physically installing equipment and interior network cabling. The Network Administrator meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses. They update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. The position protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential and accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. This role requires working some evenings and weekends to implement network changes when most users are off the network. The administrator acts as a mentor and resource for information technology associates and interns, delivering guidance, training, and support to ensure mastery of job functions and technical responsibilities. They may lead small project teams or work groups on complex network initiatives.

  • Associate's degree (AS) in network engineering technology, Computer Engineering Technology or similar degree, plus 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Server, Active Directory, MS SQL, Exchange, Hyper-V, MS Terminal services as well as DHCP, DNS, etc.
  • General computer and printer maintenance
  • Inside Plant network wiring

Nice To Haves

  • Eligibility for and ability to maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is desirable
  • Experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or Manager (ISSM)
