About The Position

The Supreme Court of Nevada is seeking an experienced and collaborative technology leader to serve as the Network Administrator Supervisor. This position provides both technical and supervisory leadership for the design, implementation, security, and administration of the Court’s enterprise network infrastructure. The Network Administrator Supervisor oversees network operations and staff while ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure connectivity across statewide judicial facilities and cloud environments. This role works closely with court leadership, vendors, and IT staff to support mission-critical systems and advance strategic technology initiatives for the Nevada Judiciary. Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience is crucial to this role. This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas. This position requires occasional statewide travel and may require working evenings, weekends, or after-hours. After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of progressively responsible enterprise network administration experience, including lead or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Three to five years of AWS experience.
  • Expert knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking, firewalls, VPNs, and network security principles.
  • Advanced experience supporting hybrid and cloud network environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, access control methodologies, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, mentoring staff, and coordinating complex technology projects.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and manage responsibilities from a remote location.
  • Ability to supervise employees remotely, as needed.
  • Proficiency in using virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Must provide own secure internet connection capable of supporting all job functions.
  • Minimum internet speed of 50–100 Mbps download is required; higher speeds may be necessary if the connection is shared within the household.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or security-related certifications.
  • AWS and Azure networking certifications.
  • Experience supporting government, judicial, or other highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud network environments.
  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure solutions.
  • Oversee network access control, segmentation, connectivity architecture, and enterprise network performance.
  • Direct network lifecycle management activities, including upgrades, patching strategies, hardware replacement, and modernization initiatives.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability to ensure reliable operations across judicial facilities.
  • Oversee administration of enterprise firewalls, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, and cloud networking platforms.
  • Lead network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Develop and implement redundancy and disaster recovery strategies to support critical court operations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with network security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee implementation of network segmentation, access controls, and secure connectivity solutions.
  • Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts and support security audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on secure network architecture and operational practices.
  • Supervise, assign, review, and evaluate the work of network administration staff.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, technical guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Establish work priorities, monitor workloads, and ensure timely completion of projects and operational responsibilities.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, performance management, and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and customer-focused team environment.
  • Oversee maintenance of network architecture diagrams, standards, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to change management processes, configuration controls, and operational standards.
  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, escalation procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
  • Serve as a lead technical advisor on enterprise networking and connectivity projects.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, court administration, vendors, and stakeholders to support technology strategy and planning.
  • Assist with budgeting, procurement recommendations, and long-term infrastructure planning.
