Requirements

  • Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching.
  • Hands-on experience in WAN installation and maintenance.
  • Successful network troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with router and switch configuration.
  • Expertise in load balancer support.
  • Skills in serial console and out-of-band management for effective network operations.
  • Strong capabilities in traffic analysis, bandwidth monitoring, and network performance monitoring.
  • Ability to swiftly report anomalies.
  • Experience in virtual lab environments and physical lab testing.
  • Foundational understanding of network automation and scripting for network administration.
  • Compliance with IAT Level II and CompTIA Security+ CE standards.
  • Experience in classified network support requiring a Secret clearance.
  • Adherence to cable management standards and hardware accountability procedures within enterprise network architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, patching, and hardening routers, switches, load balancers, and serial console devices throughout the network.
  • Monitoring circuit utilization and bandwidth, performing traffic analysis to identify anomalies that may affect network performance and mission success.
  • Validating configurations and troubleshooting issues in production environments and virtual or physical lab settings prior to implementation.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of incidents and change requests.
  • Escalating complex challenges to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Contributing to automation efforts through scripting.
  • Ensuring proper cable management.
  • Coordinating equipment movements.
  • Collaborating closely with government team leads for compliant and reliable network operations.
