About The Position

The Network Administrator (also known as a Ground System Specialist on this contract) is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and optimizing the Next Generation Operational Control Segment (OCX) system's network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. This role involves troubleshooting network issues, implementing security measures, and supporting system upgrades.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience with GPS or DoD satellite operations and communication circuits.
  • Prior experience with GPS control segment operations and GPS-type software.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network performance issues efficiently.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II)
  • Secret Clearance (Required)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a DoD, aerospace, or defense industry environment.
  • Previous OCX experience.
  • Previous AEP experience.
  • Top Secret Clearance (Desired)
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Information Technology related field or equivalent combination of experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct OCX ground system monitoring operations in a normal 40 hour work week.
  • Monitor all communication circuits continuously including, but not limited to, operational circuits, OCX remote sites and satellite vehicle contractor interfaces.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Analyze and isolate all communications-related malfunctions and reconfigure ground systems equipment as required to maintain mission operations per published technical orders.
  • Ensure health and operations of ground equipment as well as remote site and external interface connections.
  • Monitors ground equipment status and sends directions, as needed, to correct problems.
  • Monitors and assists in maintaining Cross Domain Solution/High Speed Guard.
  • Remain trained and fully certified for GSS tasks.
  • Monitor and coordinate the status of all GPS ground systems and communication lines, into and out of the OCX MCS, TSF and AMCS.
  • Support all troubleshooting activities until anomalous conditions are correctly resolved and operations are restored to normal status.
  • Conduct mission operations transfer procedures between the MCS and AMCS and relocate to the back-up location (Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA), as required.
