About The Position
The Netter Library is seeking a Student Assistant for Federal Work-Study. This role involves assisting patrons with basic inquiries, directing them to librarians for professional help, and managing various library operations.
Requirements
- Reliable
- Excellent customer services skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with all library patrons: students, staff and faculty
- Ability to learn new computer programs
- Capable of following directions and working independently
Nice To Haves
- Library experience preferred but not necessary
Responsibilities
- Answering basic patron questions
- Referring patrons in need of professional assistance to Librarians
- Answering the phone
- Check-in and check-out of library materials
- Processing mail
- Copying and scanning
- Library database searching
- Shelving books and journals
- Shelf reading
- Other duties as assigned
