About The Position

A Netcool Developer with AIOps Cloud Pak expertise is responsible for integrating and migrating traditional IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) event management systems with the AI-powered capabilities of the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps platform. The role involves automating IT operations, reducing alert noise, and using AIML to predict and resolve incidents faster.

Requirements

  • Netcool Omnibus
  • Netcool Impact
  • IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps
  • JSONATA
  • Python
  • Bash scripts
  • Splunk
  • ServiceNow
  • Slack

Responsibilities

  • Connecting existing on-premises Netcool Omnibus and Netcool Impact environments with IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps using provided connectors. This includes migrating existing event filters and runbook automation policies.
  • Ensuring seamless bidirectional synchronization of event data between Netcool and the AIOps platform. This involves configuring data mapping and transformation rules (often using JSONATA) for consistent alert and event processing across systems.
  • Creating and implementing automation policies and runbooks (often using Netcool Impact policies and potentially Python Bash scripts) within the AIOps environment to automatically diagnose and remediate IT issues.
  • Assisting in feeding quality data to the AIOps platforms machine learning models to enable event grouping, log anomaly detection, metric anomaly detection, and change risk assessment.
  • Utilizing the AIOps platforms resource management and topology features to provide a unified, application-centric view of the IT infrastructure, helping to understand interdependencies and the potential impact of incidents.
  • Working with cross-functional teams (DevOps, SREs, etc.) to integrate data from various third-party tools (Splunk, ServiceNow, Slack, etc.) and ensure a cohesive, AI-driven operations platform.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex issues that arise during the integration and operation of the AIOps and Netcool systems in a hybrid cloud environment.
