About The Position

This role requires an expert in NetApp storage solutions, with a focus on managing and supporting NetApp ONTAP environments. The administrator will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining solutions including ONTAP, Cloud Volume Ontap, and Azure Netapp Files. A key aspect of the role involves planning, leading, and executing data migrations using NetApp native tools. The position also entails leading engineering support for SAN/NAS environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability, provisioning storage (volumes, LUN mapping, NAS shares), and managing capacity planning, performance tuning, forecasting, and trending. The role demands demonstrated experience with NetApp's data protection features, including SVM-to-SVM data protection, secure cluster and SVM peering for cross-cluster replication, and executing baseline transfers and incremental updates for SVM-level disaster recovery. Hands-on experience with SVM failover and reactivation, monitoring SVM-DR relationships, and ensuring snapshot retention alignment are crucial. The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in managing and supporting NetApp ONTAP environments.
  • Migration expert - NetApp native tools-based migration.
  • Solid understanding of NFS, SMB/CIFS, and FC protocols.
  • Experience in NetApp storage provisioning, replication, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience with migration processes- snpmirror.
  • Proficiency with key NetApp tools such as SnapMirror, Active IQ, and System Manager.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain NetApp storage solutions (ONTAP, Cloud Volume Ontap and Azure Netapp Files).
  • Plan, lead, and execute data migrations in a NetApp environment.
  • Lead engineering support for SAN/NAS environments and ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provision storage: create volumes, LUN mapping, NAS shares, and ensure OS-level availability.
  • Manage capacity planning, performance tuning, forecasting, and trending.
  • Configure SVM‑to‑SVM data protection relationships, ensuring replication of volume data, NFS exports, SMB shares, RBAC settings, and SVM configuration metadata.
  • Set up secure cluster peering and SVM peering, enabling cross‑cluster data replication for SVM‑DR environments.
  • Execute baseline transfers and manage scheduled incremental updates for SVM‑level disaster recovery.
  • Perform SVM failover and reactivation of primary systems, leveraging SnapMirror’s fast, nondisruptive DR activation capabilities.
  • Monitor SVM‑DR relationships, verify snapshot retention alignment with protection policies, and validate replication health for business continuity.
