About The Position

This Software Developer role supports a long-standing engagement with a major federal healthcare agency. This is a highly stable, long-term opportunity supporting business-critical applications and integrations used in federal healthcare program processing. The selected developer will join a well-established environment with extensive documentation to maintain and enhance core application suites, support critical integrations, and troubleshoot production issues. This is a long-term contract position expected to last three to five years.

Requirements

5 or more years of professional software development experience focusing on full-stack enterprise applications.
Strong experience developing front-end architectures using Angular.
Extensive backend experience with C# and .NET application development.
Hands-on experience designing and building REST and SOAP web service integrations utilizing ASP.NET Web API.
Strong database experience with SQL Server, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing data integration.
Experience utilizing Entity Framework or similar Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
Practical experience in application troubleshooting, systems integration, and day-to-day production support.
Experience utilizing Azure DevOps for build, deployment, and version control processes.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fully remote environment.
Dedication to continuous process improvement, code quality, and technical documentation.

Nice To Haves

Experience working within healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
Prior experience supporting or integrating with federal healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare Advantage).
Knowledge of server administration or infrastructure troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
Experience working independently to own, optimize, and maintain business-critical application suites.

Responsibilities

Maintain, enhance, and modernize enterprise applications built with Angular, C#, ASP.NET Web API, and SQL Server.
Build new technical functionality, custom API gateways, and web-based modules to align with stakeholder requirements.
Implement object-relational mapping (ORM) components using Entity Framework or similar tools to manage database access.
Support and optimize mission-critical integrations that import transactional data from federal systems.
Design, develop, and test REST and SOAP-based web services to securely transmit processing results.
Support recurring data distribution and deliverables, including monthly file postings and automated operational reporting.
Provide daily transaction-processing support and troubleshoot application issues within a highly visible production environment.
Leverage Azure DevOps to support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, build processes, and deployment tasks.
Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable full-stack technical solutions.
