About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive .NET Production Support Engineer to ensure the stability, high availability, and optimal performance of enterprise web applications and backend systems. In this role, you will be the first line of defense for troubleshooting application incidents, diagnosing complex technical bottlenecks, and collaborating with development teams to implement permanent fixes. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in software development, application maintenance, or technical production support
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework
  • Experience with web technologies and APIs (ASP.NET MVC, Web API, RESTful services, WCF)
  • Solid database experience with Microsoft SQL Server (writing complex queries, performance tuning, and troubleshooting)
  • Experience with source control and CI/CD tools (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools (Splunk, Kibana, AppInsights)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset under high-pressure situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for incident reporting and stakeholder updates
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedules for after-hours support

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Angular/React)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production environments, triage incoming alerts, investigate application errors, and resolve critical incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Analyze application logs, trace requests, and debug code written in C#, .NET Core / .NET Framework, and related Microsoft technologies to root-cause production issues
  • Write, review, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to resolve data-related discrepancies or performance bottlenecks in SQL Server
  • Assist in deploying software updates, hotfixes, and patches across staging and production environments using CI/CD pipelines
  • Proactively monitor application health, server performance, and API responses using modern monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AppDynamics, New Relic, ELK stack, or Azure Monitor)
  • Maintain comprehensive runbooks, incident logs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system architecture documentation
  • Partner with software development, QA, and DevOps teams to feed production insights back into the development lifecycle and prevent recurring problems
