About The Position

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is seeking an experienced .NET / Power BI Developer to support application development, reporting, business intelligence, data analytics, and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C#, .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Power BI, SQL, APIs, ETL processes, and dashboard development, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core
  • Hands-on experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and visualizations
  • Strong SQL development experience including queries, stored procedures, and reporting
  • Experience building APIs, web forms, and business applications
  • Experience supporting web applications and web server environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and support staff

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, semantic models, and visualizations
  • Develop DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and reporting solutions
  • Create and support APIs, web forms, integrations, and internal business applications
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects
  • Support ETL, data transformation, reporting automation, and data quality initiatives
  • Troubleshoot application, reporting, database, and performance issues
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Modernize legacy applications, workflows, and reporting processes
  • Provide technical mentoring and support to junior developers and staff
  • Collaborate with leadership, business units, and IT teams on reporting and data governance initiatives
