About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an Application Programmer / Software Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. The role is part of a dedicated application development remediation team focused on addressing a backlog of security vulnerabilities identified through AI-enabled scanning tools. The developer will collaborate with application owners and core development teams to remediate vulnerabilities, implement fixes, and manage changes through the release process into production.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of software development experience; 5–7 years preferred, but strong 3–5-year candidates may be considered
  • Strong development experience with .NET and/or C#
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Strong Bash/shell scripting skills
  • Understanding of application infrastructure—not just traditional application coding
  • Experience troubleshooting and remediating security vulnerabilities in applications
  • Ability to understand existing applications and make changes without disrupting production functionality
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently

Nice To Haves

  • FreeBSD experience is a plus, but not required
  • Linux/Unix variants are acceptable in place of FreeBSD
  • Oracle/database experience
  • Automated testing/regression testing experience
  • Experience with security scanning/vulnerability remediation tools
  • Experience working with third-party applications/products and extending their functionality
  • Understanding of application release/deployment processes
  • Experience with Windows-based applications and infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Review and remediate application security vulnerabilities and scanning findings
  • Analyze source-code findings and determine appropriate remediation beyond simple code fixes
  • Work with application owners and core development teams to ensure fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality
  • Develop, modify, and maintain applications using .NET/C# and/or Unix-based technologies
  • Support security remediation across Windows, Unix/Linux, and application infrastructure environments
  • Participate in discovery, analysis, testing, and release management activities
  • Develop automated regression testing and other tools where applicable
  • Address security findings, technical debt, and other remediation deliverables
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to resolve issues end-to-end
  • Work in a fast-paced environment where new security findings are continuously identified
