About The Position

Support Business Unit (BU) in achieving and maintaining audit readiness by ensuring alignment with applicable NERC Standards. Drive consistent, effective and proactive compliance efforts by partnering with BU compliance teams and tailoring support based on each BU’s compliance maturity. Perform audit readiness activities directly when needed and serve as a trusted advisor through deep expertise in NERC Standards. Act as the single point of contact for ENRA compliance services on an assigned standard basis. Execute established compliance processes with minimal supervision and maintain accurate, up to date process documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, communications, computer science, business, or related field of study; or Associate's degree in one of the aforementioned fields and two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the electric utility, or similarly regulated, industry (for NERC Standard Manager).
  • Five (5) years of experience in electric utility or similarly regulated industry (for NERC Standard Manager Sr.).
  • Growing understanding of individual NERC Standards (for NERC Standard Manager).
  • Ability to manage lower risk or standards and/or standards owned by a single business unit (for NERC Standard Manager).
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments through various means (written, verbal, presentation).
  • Developing expertise on NERC Standards (for NERC Standard Manager Sr.).
  • Ability to manage risk and/or NERC Standards owned by more than one business unit (for NERC Standard Manager Sr.).
  • Understand Regional Entity positions and risk view of NERC Standards (for NERC Standard Manager Sr.).
  • Proven ability to gain agreement with stakeholders for risk mitigation and process improvement opportunities (for NERC Standard Manager Sr.).

Responsibilities

  • Identify root cause and establish facts of potential compliance incidents.
  • Identify impact and risk of potential compliance incidents.
  • Draft language for regulator review for potential compliance incidents.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop effective mitigation activities for compliance incidents.
  • Draft language for regulator review for mitigation plans.
  • Develop milestones, including preventive efforts, for mitigation plans.
  • Track progress of approved mitigation plans and review evidence of completion.
  • Work with impacted BUs to create and execute an implementation plan for new and revised standards to ensure readiness prior to the Standard’s effective date.
  • Assess and provide feedback to compliance SMEs on the ability of BU processes to fulfill compliance requirements.
  • Identify failure points relating to compliance requirements.
  • Identify process improvements and/or controls as needed to reduce the risk of failure points.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain level two controls, as needed.
  • Support BU compliance experts to define evidence of compliance.
  • Support instructions to pull and review evidence on demand.
  • Collect SME responses to regulator RFIs.
  • Execute other tasks and projects, as assigned, which may include creating presentations, delivering training and supporting BUs during audit engagements.
