About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas Kidney Transplant Center is seeking to hire a Transplant Nephrologist to our team at Ascension Saint Thomas West Hospital. Join an established team of 4 physicians and 2 APPs. The practice setting is hospital inpatient/outpatient with access to support staff including RN Coordinators, Social Workers, PharmD, and Nutritionists. This is an employed position within a nonprofit health system. The role requires eligibility for state medical licensure and DEA registration. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Nephrology and completion of an AST Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Training Accreditation Program (TNFTAP) or ACGME accredited transplant nephrology fellowship is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in transplant nephrology is needed. Previous medical directorship or leadership experience is preferred. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute inpatient and outpatient populations utilizing advanced diagnostic acumen and evidence-based medicine. They will also serve as the admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization, ensuring seamless transitions from admission to discharge.

Requirements

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certified in Nephrology and completion of an American Society of Transplantation (AST) Transplant Nephrology Fellowship Training Accreditation Program (TNFTAP) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited transplant nephrology fellowship.
• 5 years minimum experience in transplant nephrology
