About The Position

The individual selected will assist with the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for State and Federal agencies. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant environmental discipline (environmental science, environmental biology, ecology, wildlife management, cultural resources, NEPA, and related disciplines)
  • 0-1 year of planning experience
  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, environmental justice and Title VI, Section 4(f), Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and Section 106

Responsibilities

  • Participate in management teams for Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) on transportation, energy projects, federal land management plans, and other federal actions subject to NEPA.
  • Coordinate the activities involved in the EIS and EA processes, including agency consultation, public involvement, impact analyses, and document development.
  • Support and coordinate outreach and engagement, including public meetings, tribal, federal, and state agency consultation and coordination, and comment-response tracking.
  • Coordinate document development and quality control of EISs, EAs, and environmental permit deliverables for projects.
  • Explore the use of new technologies to support the EIS and EA processes.
  • Support the production of high-quality client deliverables by coordinating document development, including collaborating with managers and technical staff to develop annotated outlines for documents that include page targets as well as providing editing on deliverables.
