About The Position

We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for a long-term contract opportunity at a Military Treatment Facility / Medical Center in Camp Lejeune, NC. This role involves providing clinical coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on neonates and newborns who are eligible military and Department of Defense beneficiaries. The NNP will work 13-hour shifts, with two shifts per day ensuring continuous 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays. The position requires managing patients in a Level II NICU, averaging 4-6 patients daily, with approximately 120 deliveries per month. The NNP will work under the direction of an attending Neonatologist and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification through the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Active DEA Registration.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) certification.
  • PALS certification.
  • NPI required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years practicing as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a Level II or higher NICU.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal care within a Level II NICU under the direction of the attending Neonatologist.
  • Evaluate, admit, and manage neonatal patients within granted clinical privileges.
  • Perform daily patient rounding and ongoing assessment of neonatal patients.
  • Participate in neonatal resuscitations and stabilization of newborns when required.
  • Coordinate care with the Neonatologist and multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with the Neonatologist, OB/GYN team, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with military facility standards.
  • Deliver patient-centered neonatal care while supporting continuity of care for military beneficiaries.
