About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) in a Level III NICU. The role involves inpatient coverage with no call requirements. The NP will be responsible for performing various procedures, including intubation, chest tubes, umbilical lines, PICC lines, and arterial sticks. Shifts are 12 or 24 hours and are all in-house. The patient population consists of neonates. The facility uses EPIC for EMR, and credentialing takes approximately 14 days.

Requirements

Active Pennsylvania licensure
Board certification
NRP certification
Minimum 1-year Neonatal experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
