About The Position

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner needed for ongoing coverage in a Level III NICU. This is a 21-bed unit with an average of 10 patients per day. The role involves 24-hour shifts, with on-site presence from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and off-site call from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Orientation is scheduled for August 5th, with immediate coverage needs from August 6th to August 19th. The average monthly shift requirement is 10-14. The patient population consists of neonates. The facility uses Cerner for its EMR system, and credentialing typically takes 60 days.

Requirements

  • Active Michigan licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS and NRP certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Neonatology experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Michigan
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
