About The Position

Neonatal Manager Flight Operations leads and innovates within a critical aeromedical transport environment, ensuring operational excellence and clinical proficiency across all flight teams. This role champions patient safety, drives continuous quality improvement, and fosters a high-performance culture foundational to emergency medical services (EMS), optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact. The manager empowers a team of dedicated Flight RNs and ancillary staff through comprehensive staff development, specialized continuing education, and robust clinical orientation. Responsibilities include budget management, policy implementation, and ensuring operational consistency across all bases, overseeing clinical competencies and performance metrics to shape patient outcomes within the air medical program.

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum active flight/ground transport experience
  • Involvement on local, regional or national levels of medical transport associations
  • CMTE (Certified Medical Transport Executive) required within 3 years of hire/transfer date
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Pass the annual Pre-Check review of their driving record for safe vehicle operations
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse license
  • Certified Flight RN
  • Must maintain currency in all certifications required by CAMTS (Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems)
  • Experience in a leadership role

  • Master Degree - MS-MSN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Empower a team of dedicated Flight RNs and ancillary staff through comprehensive staff development, specialized continuing education, and robust clinical orientation.
  • Manage budget, implement policies, and ensure operational consistency across all bases.
  • Oversee clinical competencies and performance metrics to shape patient outcomes within the air medical program.
  • Oversee continuing education program with assistance of Clinical Leadership Team.
  • Ensure and coordinate validations of clinical competencies, including skills and critical thinking.
  • Design and monitor quality and performance indicators, including data collection tools and processes for collection, with the Clinical Leadership Team.
  • Assist Program Director in identifying staffing needs, interviewing and hiring.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate continuing education of staff.
  • Chair the Clinical Leadership Team: set meeting agenda, contribute QI monitor information, and coordinate action plans with the Medical Director.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with staff members.
