About The Position

Seattle Preparatory School is seeking a Neighborhood Relations/Campus Security professional to join their team. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment while fostering positive relationships with the school's neighbors. The position reports to the Dean of Students and involves monitoring student parking in the neighborhood, enforcing campus rules, and providing a visible security presence. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine patrols of the neighborhood to ensure students adhere to parking agreements.
  • Communicate parking violations to the Dean of Students and assign disciplinary action (JUG).
  • Communicate daily with the Campus Ambassador/Security lead regarding evening responsibilities.
  • Enforce garage rules, including speed limits, parking, and student behavior.
  • Mitigate tensions with neighbors.
  • Monitor students in buildings and on campus.
  • Watch for unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, disturbances, fights, and school rule violations, reporting them to the Dean of Students and/or proper authorities.
  • Monitor surveillance camera systems, conduct camera searches, and prepare incident backups.
  • Conduct sweeps of facilities upon arrival and secure assigned areas.
  • Escort students and visitors as needed.
  • Conduct locker and property searches as assigned.
  • Provide assistance for scheduled after-hours activities on and off campus.
  • Serve as a security presence during evening events such as basketball games, open house, and curriculum night.
  • Assist with building evacuations during drills and emergencies, and review/update crisis intervention and evacuation plans.
  • Secure all buildings, doors, and windows at the end of the shift.
  • Prepare incident reports as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $48,000 - $51,000 annually.
  • $20,100 annual benefits allowance for medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and a flexible spending account, or the option to take this allowance as supplemental pay.
