About The Position

The Needs Assessor provides telephone and walk-in risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process including insurance pre-certification and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. This is a full-time position working weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Requirements

Master’s Degree required in a behavioral health field or credentials/education as a Registered Nurse.
Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.
CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
