About The Position

Utilizes Non-Destructive Inspection methods including liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography to verify parts and processes comply with customer engineering requirements. Sets up and standardizes NDI equipment, processes parts, interprets and evaluates for acceptance or rejection, and documents results. Establishes techniques from approved general procedure or work instructions for final approval. Conducts system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards. Provides necessary guidance and supervision to trainees. Performs audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes and initiates and documents non-conformances according to specifications, processes, and procedures. Interprets codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT methods. Assumes technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff. Prepares, verifies, and approves procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy. Provides training, examination, and certification of NDT personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • Associate degree in a related discipline.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Ultrasonic Testing Level 1 Certification and 40 hours of UT Level 1 formal training.
  • Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 Certification and 40 hours of UT Level 2 formal training.
  • 800+ Ultrasonic Testing OJT Hours documented proof.
  • NAS 410 certification.
  • Experience with UT methods including phased array, pulse-echo, shear wave, and through transmission.
  • Experience with NDT methods including liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, and radiography.
  • Ability to interpret codes, standards, and contractual documents controlling NDT methods.
