About The Position

To perform MT,VT,UT,PT and other responsibilities of a NDT Technician. This role involves working in a high-pressure, high-production environment, managing competing priorities with minimal supervision, and maintaining a strong commitment to quality inspection and reporting. The technician will also provide excellent customer service and client support, quickly building strong working relationships. This job opening provides an excellent opportunity for qualified professionals in Quality Control and serves as a platform for future opportunities within the company, including integration into a new web app for streamlined communication and project management.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in NDT inspection
  • Valid CGSB UT1 ticket
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the NDT field
  • CSTS - 2020 certification
  • Fall Protection certification
  • Confined Space certification
  • H2S Alive certification
  • Completion of CGSB certification in Magnetic Testing (MT-2)
  • Completion of CGSB certification in Penetrant Testing (PT-2)
  • Completion of CGSB certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT-1)
  • Familiarity with and understanding of performing Phased Array testing
  • Familiarity with and understanding of working in a physically demanding environment
  • Pass a pre-employment physical test (physical, hearing, drug & alcohol)
  • Ability to work in a field environment
  • Ability to work long hours throughout the duration of the project
  • Ability to routinely lift/carry heavy materials weighing 50 lbs & up

Nice To Haves

  • Other additional CGSB tickets (i.e. MT/PT/UT) or API certifications are a definite asset
  • Flexibility to work in town, out of town, nights and overtime would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform MT,VT,UT,PT and other responsibilities of a NDT Technician
  • Interpret relevant industry codes, standards, and procedures
  • Write and review reports
  • Adapt to a high pressure and high production environment while managing competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Commit to quality inspection and reporting
  • Provide excellent customer service and quickly build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Complete project related procedures and checklists
  • Troubleshoot any tool related issues on-site
  • Operate hand/power tools, forklift, hoist and crane as required
  • Maintain a safe and professional work atmosphere
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work in a field environment that includes hot, wet and cold climate conditions
  • Provide service and client support
  • Follow best practices according to company policy & standards
  • Perform inspections and interpret results
