About The Position

The Wall Inspector will inspect, test, and sort parts for defects and deviations from specifications. This role may utilize precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. The position requires the ability to meet deadlines, be accountable for quality and quantity, and work independently while also comfortable using a team approach to problem-solving. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere are essential. The role also involves ensuring parts are properly utilized according to thickness determination methods, reading and interpreting measurements, performing system capability checks, maintaining an organized workflow, setting up equipment, following calibration procedures, and organizing/reporting ultrasonic inspection results. The NDT Tech must also keep their work area clean, orderly, and safe, and maintain calibration records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be familiar with standard quality assurance instruments and gages.
  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
  • Have strong sense of urgency with the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and sort parts for defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
  • Assure parts are properly utilized to the applicable thickness determination method utilizing airflow/water flow system.
  • Read and interpret thickness measurements with reference to applicable Quality Engineering Instructions.
  • Perform system capability checks specified in inspection procedures.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient flow of parts through the area.
  • Set up equipment and follow calibration procedures.
  • Establish techniques to ensure an accurate and complete inspection of parts per Quality Engineering Instruction.
  • Organize, report, and maintain records for ultrasonic inspection results.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly, and in a safe condition, following all safety rules.
  • Maintain calibration records for equipment.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
  • Pass the yearly Wall Inspection audits for certification and Snellen eye examination.
