About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, Middletown has an exciting opportunity for a Nondestructive Test Technician Level ll to conduct radiographic and ultrasonic on metal parts to determine if parts meet nondestructive specifications.

Requirements

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school; 3-4 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 40 hours of Radiographic R/T Inspection Method Training
  • 12 months of experience in Radiographic R/T Inspection
  • 40 hours of Ultrasonic U/T Inspection Method Training
  • Certification in both inspection methods
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as solid geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Following work instructions
  • Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document result.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by MAM.
  • When specified, develop work instructions from approved general procedures. Such work instructions shall require final approval by a Level 3 certified in the method.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
