Requirements

  • Must have NDT certifications below and Valid DL
  • Level ll UTT (Ultrasonic Testing)
  • Level ll VT (Visual Inspection)
  • Level ll PT (Liquid Penetrant)
  • May require an API-570 for piping inspection.
  • 5 plus years of performing inspections using various NDT techniques in UTT, VT and PT methods in accordance with the company and customer specifications.
  • The Inspector will develop and support processes to ensure all operations staff follow regulations.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
  • Austin is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
  • Experience with measuring tools is needed as well.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and other drawings that detail product specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary.
  • Diligence is essential to the job of detecting defects that could be easily missed by the customer but still present a safety risk.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily construction surveillance at project sites, including welding, structural and civil inspections.
  • Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Observe and report construction progress.
  • Drafts daily reports based on observations made.
  • Reports discrepancies to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
  • Coordinates code compliance inspections per client specifications and State laws.
  • Maps welds to be performed.
  • Effectively collaborates with client QA personnel.
  • Checks produced in slots daily to make certain products that are set up for shipping are up to acceptable standards.
  • Communicates with buyers all quality issues and helps them in resolving them to ensure the customer receives the highest quality products possible.
  • Monitor variance reports for correct accounting of spoilage, warehouse damage, truck damage.
  • Conduct incoming material inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection to procedures.
  • Conduct first article inspections to specification.
  • Inspect electronic, electromechanical or mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, components and finished products for compliance with acceptance criteria as defined by work instructions, specifications, drawings, samples or illustrations.
  • Review and Maintenance of DHR Documentation per established procedures
  • Execute quality procedures for documentation and control of materials.
  • Reviews of work of less experienced
  • Other duties as assigned.
