About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist to support the 787 Quality Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift. Requirements

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
  • 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
  • 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekend and overtime
  • Ability to pass near vision and color perception exams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience analyzing & interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans.
  • Experience running automated inspection equipment
  • Certification in any other NDT method (ET, PT, MT, RT); must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
  • Able to work from heights up to 55 feet
  • Experience inspecting composite material
  • 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment
  • Performs ultrasonic A-scan and C-scans of 787 composite fuselage and supporting parts, assemblies and structure
  • Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations
  • Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends
  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products
  • Conducts on-the-job training (OJT)
  • Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures
