Fluorescent Penetration Inspection (FPI) is a non-destructive testing method which uses Penetrant to examine the structure of our aerospace case parts and to determine defects that need repaired. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Fluorescent Penetration Inspection (FPI) Inspectors are responsible for performing Fluorescent Penetration inspection methods on a large variety of engine cases to determine and verify conformance to work instructions and repair scope by marking areas of the part not meeting criteria. This process includes cleaning and processing parts using FPI Booth. Inspect internal case structure using inspection equipment for this method. Prepare and complete required inspection documents (manual and electronic), reports and stamping of work instructions to indicate acceptability of parts and completion of work scope as it’s transferred to the next process. Collaborate with engineering, quality, quality lab, operations and materials or other personnel when needed as it relates to the inspection process. Review work instructions, repair operations requirements and blueprints. Use inspection tools throughout the process. Tools include Fluorescent Penetration Inspection (FPI) Booth and equipment and inspection fixtures. Assist Level III Quality Engineer (QE) in developing specific test techniques. Must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Programs Policy. Days/hours are Monday - Friday; 3:00pm - 11:30pm
