About The Position

The NDT Inspector II selects, performs, and evaluates the results of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aerospace products. Documents the findings of visual, penetrant, and radiographic examinations of all components being inspected.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions.
Maintains filing systems and logs.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Certified to NAS 410, NDT Level II in VT, PT, and/or RT (film).
40 hours of Radiation Safety training required for RT.
1 year of applied work experience as a NDT Level II in VT, PT, and/or RT.

Nice To Haves

Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

Applies the practical aspects of the applicable NDT method and the importance of following procedures exactly.
Evaluates indications with reference to applicable standards and specifications.
Identifies the type and location of expected defects for the fabrication process used to make the products.
Understands and interprets the use of NDT and welding symbols on drawings.
Prepares and maintains inspection reports and records.
Directs and carries out tests in the method certified.
Records variable data for individual statistical process control studies in appropriate logbooks.
Clearly communicates in both verbal and written forms with internal and external customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as required.
Collaborates with other colleagues and departments as needed.
Upholds Company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements.
Understands the practical theory of NDT, utilizing techniques from manuals and other source material for assistance when needed.
Maintains cleanliness of the work area, proper handling of tools, equipment and stock to prevent loss.
