About The Position

As the NDT Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting non-destructive inspection across production, quality, sustainment, and engineering test initiatives. Your responsibilities will include providing NDI support to production, quality, sustainment, and engineering test efforts, performing NDI tests on airplane parts and components, writing NDI procedures with detailed drawings for inspections, operating eddy current, ultrasonic, and dye-penetrant equipment on aircraft parts, and conducting materials testing and failure analysis.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience/education with at least five years of experience performing eddy current testing.
  • Willing to support extended and off shift work schedules and on-call requirements
  • Willing and able to work in hazardous laboratory environments and with hazardous chemicals/materials and follow all Personal Protective Equipment and safety requirements
  • Willing and able to work in a laboratory environment by themselves or with other team members
  • Willing to travel in country and out of country to perform inspections on a periodic basis
  • Willing to work in a confined space while performing inspections
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience with mechanical aptitude and interest in aircraft structures
  • Willing to crawl around on aircraft and get your hands dirty
  • Hands on experience performing ultrasonic and eddy current testingtesting.
  • Familiar with reading and following MIL, ASTM, and proprietary specifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
