About The Position

Acuren is recruiting entry-level NDT Assistants for operations in Auburn, Maine. This is a local callout/travel position, with travel of up to 90% throughout New Castle, Delaware, and surrounding areas. Work environments may include fab shops, petrochemical and chemical facilities, pulp and paper facilities, gas plants, refineries, pipelines, and pharmaceutical facilities.

NDT Assistants help perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations used to determine acceptance or rejection according to written instructions, and record results. They set up and use NDT equipment and support Radiographers with equipment calibration and inspections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have experience, credentials, and history that allow certification as Trustworthy & Reliable under applicable federal and state regulations, as determined by a thorough background check.
• Motor vehicle driving record must meet company standards for driving company vehicles.
• Must pass drug/alcohol and background screens required by clients.

Nice To Haves

• Some college preferred.
• Technical background desired.

Responsibilities

• Set up and utilize nondestructive test equipment.
• Assist Radiographers in calibrating NDT equipment.
• Assist Radiographers in conducting tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT inspection methods.
• Record inspection results.
• Assist with NDT procedures, carry equipment, and perform other operations.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
